I am incredibly fortunate to have amazing people working alongside me! Let me introduce Jannet, a remarkable woman I’ve known for over 20 years. Juggling her role as my PA while being a devoted mother to two wonderful children, Jannet embodies resilience and strength. Her journey is nothing short of inspiring: she has successfully relocated overseas with her family, embraced a new culture, created a loving home, switched careers, launched her own business, and supported her children through all these changes. Truly, she is a real-life Superwoman. Jannet’s story as an “older” mum is both motivating and uplifting. A Journey of Passion and Purpose

Hi, I’m Jannet from Willow Tree Virtual Assistants, proudly associated with The Creative Desk. Today, I’m excited to share my journey with you—a journey that took me from the classroom to running my own virtual assistant business.

The Call for Change

For over two decades, I dedicated myself to education, teaching across various grades and subjects. During those years, I developed and implemented curricula, managed classroom dynamics, and fostered a love for learning among my students. Yet, as a mother blessed with two beautiful children after years of infertility, the demands of balancing work and home life became increasingly challenging.

The Decision to Emigrate

Our decision to emigrate was driven by the desire for a better life for our children. This major life change presented a unique opportunity to reassess my career. I needed a way to support my family while being present for my children and husband. This transition led to the birth of my own company, Willow Tree Virtual Assistants, and a partnership with the dynamic Sharon at The Creative Desk. Sharon’s encouragement and vision for women succeeding in business were instrumental in my journey.

Empathy and Understanding for Mum Entrepreneurs

As a mother, I understand the pressures and demands of juggling family and career. This empathy allows me to connect deeply with mum entrepreneurs and creatives who need assistance in running their businesses. I know firsthand the importance of reliable support and efficient management, which is why I strive to offer these qualities through my virtual assistant services.

From Teacher to Business Owner

Starting my own business was a significant change, but one I embraced wholeheartedly. My extensive experience in administration, curriculum development, and classroom management equipped me with the skills needed to manage a virtual assistant business effectively. Partnering with The Creative Desk allows me to offer a range of services, including administrative support, project management, and personalised solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

The Joy of Self-Employment

Transitioning to self-employment has been an incredibly rewarding journey. It has allowed me to work from home, be there for my children, and contribute to my family’s new life in our new home. I haven’t regretted the decision for a moment. Running my own company and working with Sharon at The Creative Desk has given me the flexibility and fulfilment I always desired. I am thoroughly enjoying the challenges and successes that come with business ownership.

As an older, work-from-home mother, I bring a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to the table. My background in education has honed my organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. These attributes make me a reliable and trustworthy partner for managing your workload. My goal is to provide support that allows you to focus on growing your business, knowing that the administrative side is in capable hands.
